Solar PV Installation
Turning your home into a carbon neutral power station
As one of the UK’s leading Solar PV installers (solar panel installers), PHS are committed to delivering design, expert advice and service to all of our customers. With over 30 years’ experience in the mechanical, electrical and heating industry, our commitment to providing the best product and service before, during and after an installation is second to none.
Save and Earn Money
Not only will you save money from your solar panel installation you will also get paid for any exported electricity too meaning nothing you produce will go to waste.Reduce Air Pollution
By installing solar panels onto your property, you will reduce the amount of Co2 in the air and our dependance on burning fossil fuels for powering homes for generations to come.No Maintenance Required
Solar panel installations don't have any moving parts which means there is very little maintenance involved in the upkeep of your panels, you may need to get them cleaned every few years.Increase Property Value
Renewable energy is what all houses will be expected to have in the future meaning you are future proofing your home while potentially increasing the value of your property and desirability to a buyer.Solar PV Installation Process
We start by assessing your energy requirements and determining the available space for solar panel installers to arrive. We consider factors such as your roof's orientation, shading from nearby structures or trees, and local regulations regarding solar panel installations. Obtaining necessary permits from local authorities may also be required before proceeding with the installation.
Once you've determined the optimal location for your solar panels we will begin to prepare the installation site by ensuring it's clean, free from debris, and structurally sound to support the weight of the panels. Once complete we will install mounting hardware, such as racks or frames, securely to the roof or the ground. Proper installation of mounting hardware is crucial for the long-term stability and effectiveness of your solar panel system.
After mounting the panels, the next step is to connect them to an inverter - this converts the direct current (DC) electricity generated by the panels into usable alternating current (AC) electricity. This involves wiring the panels together in series or parallel configurations and then connecting them to the inverter. The inverter is then connected to your electrical panel, allowing the generated electricity to be used in your home, exported to the grid (if you have a grid-connected system) or stored in solar battiers.
If your solar panel system is connected to the grid, you'll need to coordinate with your utility company to establish a grid connection. This typically involves installing a bidirectional meter, which measures the electricity you consume from the grid and the excess electricity you export back to the grid. Once the solar pv installation is complete, a final inspection is often required to ensure that the system meets safety and building code requirements, a final test of the systems is conducted to ensure proper functionality and performance.
Solar Panel Benefits
The current is changed from DC to AC, so that it can be domestically used by the inverter.
The AC energy that is not being used is stored in your battery system to use when it’s convenient to you.
