A solar battery, similar to any kind of battery, simply stores energy. By connecting a solar battery to your solar panel system, you can store any excess solar energy that your system generates. Without a solar battery connected to your Solar PV system, any excess energy is sent back to the grid. A Solar Battery allows you to store your extra solar energy to be used at any time, for example at night when your Solar Panels won’t be generating as much electricity.
As hard wearing as Solar Panel Systems are, occasionally issues can arise due to pesky birds, cleanliness or environmental factors. The best way to keep your Solar generation at a high is to stay on top of your system’s health. A well maintained Solar PV System can operate at levels up to 30% more than one that is neglected. By monitoring your system's performance, you can track your Solar generation and see if there are any faults within your system.
Birds, in particular pigeons, can be both noisy and messy visitors. By pigeons nesting underneath your Solar Panels, they can damage either the cables or the Solar Panels themselves, causing faults within your Solar PV System. By Bird Proofing your Solar Panels, you can protect your Solar Panels and your Green Energy Investment. This can be done by simply installing a wire mesh, or Bird netting to the outside perimeter of your Solar Panels.

HOW A BATTERY WORKS
During the day, whilst the sun is shining, your PV panels collect AC energy, sending it to your inverter. Your inverter converts the energy to DC storing it in your battery. At night when your panels are no longer collecting solar energy, you can use the stored energy from your battery to power your home. It’s as simple as that.

Our batteries use the safest chemistry available LiFePO4 (Lithium Ion Phosphate), most batteries use the most economical type of chemistry like NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt).
There are a number of ways batteries can effect your energy bill. The most typical way is storing energy that you generate and sell at a lower price than what you buy energy for. They can also be used to take advantage of storing cheaper power from the grid to offset when energy prices are high.
Soltaro AC Retro Inverters are designed to be added to existing solar systems. Soltaro Hybrid Hyper inverters are designed to be fit on new installations or replace ageing solar inverters and using PV panels that are already installed.
No, panels are not needed to have a battery. But, to get the absolute best result for energy saving, batteries provide more benefits when used in conjunction with PV Panels.
Soltaro systems are designed to be flexible and blend in to your home. Most of our products are rated to IP65 which means they can be installed both indoor or outdoors. As our systems are also designed for indoor installs they are one of the quietest systems available.
